Divide your life into areas.

Try:

“God, this is what I desire. If this is Your will, build it. Show me what I need to change and teach me how to participate in creating it.”

💼 3. Career & business

This is an area where I think you can be very specific.

Don't be afraid to write numbers.

For example:

My business vision

• I want A. Albert to become profitable.
• I want consistent monthly revenue.
• I want customers who genuinely value my work.
• I want to build businesses that serve people.
• I want to create jobs.
• I want financial stability.
• I want to become an excellent businesswoman.
• I want to learn sales, marketing, leadership, technology and finance.
• I want my businesses to generate enough income to support my household.
• I want to be generous with what God gives me.

Then attach action to the prayer.

“God, give me wisdom to build this properly. Show me opportunities. Give me discipline to follow through. Close doors that aren't for me and give me discernment to recognize the doors that are.”

💰 4. Finances

You can absolutely have financial goals.

Instead of simply writing:

“I want to be rich.”

Make it measurable:

• Become debt-free.
• Build an emergency fund.
• Save $X.
• Invest $X per month.
• Generate $X/month in business revenue.
• Give consistently.
• Stop unnecessary spending.
• Learn how to manage money.
• Become financially stable.
• Eventually own multiple income-producing assets.

Then ask:

“What would the person who has this life need to do differently?”

That's where the faith becomes action.

🌱 5. Who do I want to become?

This might actually be more important than what you want to have.

Write:

“God, make me…”

• disciplined
• wise
• patient
• courageous
• financially responsible
• emotionally mature
• generous
• consistent
• hardworking
• discerning
• humble
• confident without becoming prideful
• compassionate
• resilient
• obedient
• trustworthy

Because sometimes we're asking God for the harvest while He's trying to develop the person who can handle the harvest.

✈️ 6. Experiences and dreams

You can write down things you want to experience too.

Travel.

A beautiful home.

A successful business.

Creative projects.

Education.

New skills.

Friendships.

Community.

Serving others.

Giving to your family.

Seeing certain places.

Buying something you've always wanted.

There is nothing wrong with having dreams.

The important distinction is:

“God, this is what I desire.”

rather than:

“The universe owes me this because I declared it.”

And then there's the part people often leave out: ACTION.

I would use a simple formula:

PRAY → WRITE → PLAN → ACT → REVIEW → SURRENDER

Pray:

“God, is this something I should pursue?”

Write:

Put the vision somewhere concrete.

Plan:

What would accomplishing this actually require?

Act:

Do something toward it every day/week.

Review:

What's working? What's not?

Surrender:

“God, if You are redirecting me, help me recognize it.”

That's much healthier than sitting around waiting for something to “manifest.”

Here's an example

Suppose you want to own a successful company.

Don't just write:

“I will be a millionaire.”

Write:

“Father, I desire to build a successful company that provides excellent services, creates opportunities for other people, gives me financial stability, and allows me to be generous. I ask You for wisdom, discipline, creativity, discernment, and favor. Teach me how to manage what You put in my hands. Help me recognize opportunities without chasing things that aren't from You. Give me the courage to work when I'm afraid and the wisdom to stop when something isn't right. If this vision needs to change, change it. If it needs to grow, grow it. Let my success never become more important to me than You.”

Then underneath it:

Goal: $10,000/month revenue

Why: Financial stability + growth + ability to serve

By when: ______

What has to happen: ______

This month's target: ______

This week's actions: ______

What I'm praying about: ______

What I'm learning: ______

What God is showing me: ______

Now you've turned a dream into something you can actually steward.

One important biblical distinction

You don't have to be afraid that wanting things means you're being selfish.

God isn't asking you to have no desires.

The question is:

Who is Lord over your desires?

If the answer is God, you can dream boldly while remaining surrendered.

Jesus Himself taught us to pray:

“Thy will be done.”

So you can have big dreams + big faith + big goals while still saying:

“God, I want this—but I want Your will more.”

That's the balance I would aim for.
